HERE FOR EVERY
crisis
Trusted responders during disasters and public health crisis
When a storm ravaged parts of Tennessee and the southeast, HCA Healthcare’s national network of colleagues showed up to provide life‑saving support.
When Hurricanes Helene and Milton ravaged parts of the Southeast in 2024, HCA Healthcare’s roots in Tennessee served as the nerve center for an extraordinary, life-saving response. At the heart of it all was the organization’s Enterprise Emergency Operations Center (EEOC) in Nashville, where HCA Healthcare leaders and incident response experts mobilized resources, coordinated teams, and ensured uninterrupted care across impacted regions.
From the moment Helene began gaining strength in the Caribbean, the EEOC tracked the storm’s path, deploying trained Incident Response Teams and initiating protocols across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and beyond. Tennessee-based leaders were among the first to activate cross-state support, coordinating fuel trucks, medical evacuations, and supplies to keep hospitals operational. And when Western North Carolina faced catastrophic flooding, HCA Healthcare’s Mission Hospital became a beacon of hope, supported by teams and logistical guidance routed through Nashville.
Locally, HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Health aided in the response to help their neighbors in need. More than 60 nurses and colleagues from TriStar Health hospitals across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky traveled in the immediate days after the flooding to assist and provide relief to caregivers at Mission Hospital.
This response reflected HCA Healthcare’s Tennessee-born commitment to preparedness, partnership, and people. Across the Southeast, colleagues trained through programs designed in Tennessee managed everything from patient care and beyond, showing that resilience is built long before the storm hits.
For Tennessee itself, the storms were a powerful reminder that no community is immune. As weather patterns grow more extreme, HCA Healthcare’s investment in readiness, rooted in its home state, ensures that hospitals can withstand disruption and continue to care for those who need it most.
Whether it’s deploying tanker trucks to deliver clean water, flying in specialists to reengineer damaged systems, or supporting displaced staff and their families, HCA Healthcare’s Tennessee-based infrastructure stands ready.
Here in Tennessee, HCA Healthcare is here for every disaster, every patient, every colleague. Always.
